An evening of poetry for those who don’t like poetry evenings.
The performance is built around the poems of Yuri Smirnov, which seek to paralyze and reorganize the entire world at once — and sometimes succeed. Yuri Smirnov lives in the Ukrainian city of Kropyvnytskyi and writes in Russian — his poetry is tender and sharp, enveloping and disorienting.
Performers Ekaterina Kramarenko, Anastasia Balueva, and Alisher Umarov create a special space for poetry to resonate. They set time in motion in such a way that the poems become audible, removing everything superfluous and leaving behind a sealed, airless пространство in which rarefied time and silence amplify the aesthetic force of the text and its layered meanings.
