World famous violinist Ara Malikyan will perform for the first time in Armenia. The concerts will take place on October 13 and 14 of this year in the concert hall of the sports concert complex named after Karen Demirchyan.
Being in his native country and presenting his music-performance art to the Armenian audience, Malikyan will express his support and cooperation to compatriots forcibly displaced from Artsakh. Ara Malikyan and the company "TI EM Production" will direct the proceeds from the concerts to the benefit of Artsakh Armenians.
The talent of the Spanish violinist of Lebanese-Armenian origin was discovered at an early age, despite the fact that he had to live and study in bomb shelters for a long time during the Lebanese civil war. Malikyan received professional education at the Hanover High School of Music and Theater and the London Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and also took lessons from world-famous violinists, professors Ruggero Ricci, Ivri Gitlis, Herman Krebbers and others. Since 2000, the musician has settled in Spain.
Ara Malikyan's rich repertoire includes multi-genre works by composers of different eras, from Baroque to contemporary music. Armenian folk and classical music occupies a special place in his list. Studying and mastering the musical culture of the Middle East, Central Europe, Argentina and Spain, the violinist has created his own unique performance style.
Ara Malikyan has given concerts in more than 40 countries: USA, Canada, Brazil, Germany, Austria, Italy, France, Norway, Czech Republic, China, Malaysia and elsewhere. As a soloist, he performed with Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Madrid Symphony Orchestra, Zurich Chamber Orchestra, London Chamber Orchestra, etc. The violinist has released more than two dozen albums, including "15", dedicated to the 15th anniversary of his residence in Spain, "The incredible history of the violin", "Royal Garage" and others.
Ara Malikyan will arrive with his work team and band: pianist Ivan "Melon" Lewis, double bass player Ivan Ruiz Machado, drummer Georvis Pico Milan, guitarist Diane Abad. Correspondents of prestigious Spanish media will also arrive in Armenia, who will prepare programs dedicated to the centuries-old history and rich cultural heritage of Armenia and will cover Malikyan's concerts in Armenia.
